Packaging Re-Design

The Brief

Safeway/Albertsons came to us to help refresh their Signature Select Chili cans, to compete stronger with brand-name competition on shelf. Their outdated design system needed to have some soul and stronger appetite appeal. They looked to us to create something fun that popped off the shelf.

The Challenge

The goal and challenge was to make chili look appealing on pack, and to differentiate between the “hot” with beans, and the original, without beans.

The Solution

We designed a fun Southwest Tex-Mex pack that had flare and strong appetite appeal with food photography and styling in-situ, almost a curated perfectly-imperfect food editorial style. The bold typography maximized the PDP and created bold impact that really stood out against competition.
